New Denver is located in a spectacular setting on the eastern shore of Slocan Lake in the middle of three Provincial wilderness areas: Valhalla Provincial Park, Kokanee Provincial Park and White Grizzly Wilderness, making New Denver an ideal base from which to explore some of British Columbia’s most beautiful scenery. Add in the world class Galena hiking and biking trail, Idaho Lookout on the peak of Idaho Mountain, the historic mining ghost towns of Sandon, Cody and Alamo, Summit Lake Ski Hill, pristine Slocan Lake and you have endless possibilities for outdoor recreation including hiking, fishing, mountain biking, exploring extensive mining ruins, boating, camping, skiing (both downhill and cross country), and snow shoeing. And, at the end of the day, there are three commercial hot springs, and several undeveloped hot springs, most well within a 100 kilometre radius of New Denver. Then, there is a beautifully situated golf course, fine dining and several museums within a few kilometres of New Denver. The area also has a high number of award winning artists with wares to delight your eye and tempt your pocketbook. In fact, there is so much to do that many of our guests have been returning to our cottages for years. Below, you will find a partial list of visitor oriented businesses in the area.
